Our client, a reputable removals company based in the Wolverhampton, is seeking an experienced General Manager to join their expanding team.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing day-to-day operations, team leadership, and business development. This role will require a focus on improving service delivery, increasing profitability, and maintaining high standards in health and safety compliance, a CPC licence holder is preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations of the removals company, ensuring smooth workflow and high-quality service.
  • Lead and manage a team, including recruitment, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Develop and implement strategies to grow the business and increase revenue.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders, including estate agents and corporate clients.
  • Manage budgets and financial performance, including setting targets and controlling costs.
  • Ensure the company complies with all health and safety regulations and other legal requirements.
  • Develop and manage KPIs to track and improve performance across the business.
  • Implement new technology and processes to improve efficiency and service levels.
  • Handle customer complaints and disputes professionally, ensuring prompt and effective resolution.
  • Explore opportunities for expanding services or entering new markets.


Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a leadership role within the removals, logistics, or similar industry.
  • Strong financial acumen, including experience managing budgets and driving profitability.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices in removals.
  • Ability to lead and inspire a team, fostering a positive working environment.
  • Strategic thinker with strong business development skills.
  • A CPC licence holder is preferred.
