Senior Logistics Coordinator – Houston

We are seeking an experienced Senior Logistics Coordinator with a background in rail project cargo operations, heavy haul logistics, and rigging coordination.

This role requires a hands-on approach to quoting, planning, and executing complex moves while ensuring compliance with national and local transport regulations. 

What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Prepare and manage quotes and cost estimates for rail transport, heavy haul, and rigging services.
  • Responsible for handling shipments from start to finish
  • Coordinate end-to-end logistics for oversize and overweight cargo, ensuring compliance with national and local transport regulations.
  • Oversee execution of project cargo shipments, from pre-move planning to final delivery, including route surveys, permits, and escorts.
  • Liaise with railroads, rigging contractors, trucking companies, and vendors to ensure seamless execution.
  • Conduct technical reviews of cargo dimensions, lifting/handling requirements, and rigging plans.
  • Monitor project timelines, provide status updates to clients, and resolve any issues proactively.
  • Maintain accurate documentation including BOLs, transport drawings, method statements, and risk assessments.
  • Support project managers with client proposals, solution design, and operational strategy.
  • Ensure safety and regulatory compliance throughout the logistics process.
  • Collaborate with vendors and contractors to optimise performance and mitigate risks.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to junior logistics staff on project execution.
  • Continuously evaluate logistics processes to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

What We’re Looking For:
  • Experience in project cargo logistics, specifically with rail transport, heavy haul, and rigging operations.
  • Proven ability to produce accurate and competitive quotations and operational plans.
  • Strong vendor network and knowledge of North American transport corridors.
  • Solid understanding of DOT regulations, load securement standards, and permitting requirements.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment.
  • Proficient in MS Office and logistics software (experience with ERP/TMS systems is a plus).
