This individual will be responsible for all aspects of artwork transportation, ensuring compliance and protocols are followed and collaborating with the wider team. Reporting directly to the Chief Operations Officer.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage all shipping activities, including transportation, customs clearance, packing and crating.
- Ensure the safe handling and transportation of artworks, using appropriate methods.
- Negotiate bespoke shipping costs to optimize costs without compromising quality.
- Troubleshoot to rectify problems in a timely manner and ensure all stakeholders are updated promptly.
- Ensure all shipments are carried out in full compliance with local/international regulations, such as Export and CITES licenses.
- Handle inbound and outbound MIBs for staff members when required.
- Collaborate with the Pre-Sale, Post-Sale and Art Technician teams alongside the logistics team to ensure projects are delivered accurately, cost effectively and within deadline.
- Oversee management of Bond and TA processing.
- Inform the Chief Operations Officer of any escalated issues raised by internal or external clients, suppliers or other third parties.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience managing a team within a fast-paced Fine Art Shipping company, Auction House or Gallery.
- Strong organisational, analytical, managerial and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience of Bonded Warehouse/TA Procedures.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and written presentation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office packages.
