An internationally recognized shipping and logistics organization is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join its dynamic team in Tokyo, Japan. This role offers an exciting opportunity to drive business growth and expand market presence within the General Cargo sector by leveraging air, sea, and road freight solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and secure new business opportunities in line with targets.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers, driving increased revenue and service utilization.
  • Research and identify potential target customers within defined parameters to expand the client portfolio.
  • Act as a strategic advisor, liaising with clients to understand their logistics needs and promote the company's tailored solutions.
  • Conduct regular client visits and engage in consultative sales discussions to foster long-term partnerships.
  • Meet the required number of client interactions as per key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Provide detailed visit reports and maintain accurate records using tools.
  • Develop compelling cargo logistics solutions, demonstrating the value and efficiency of the company's services.
  • Maintain a robust pipeline of business opportunities within Cargo Services and ensure alignment with company KPIs.
  • Handle customer inquiries, quotations, and RFI/RFQ processes while coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Uphold the company’s reputation by delivering exceptional service and professionalism in all client interactions.
  • Achieve and exceed individual and team targets set by the organization.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in air freight, sea freight, and road freight sales within the cargo & logistics industry.
  • Strong business development and sales background with a track record of achieving targets.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) in Japanese and English.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a results-driven environment.
  • Commercial awareness and a customer-centric mindset to enhance client satisfaction.
  • Adaptability to work in a fast-paced, multicultural business setting.
