Our client is seeking a Trade Compliance Specialist to join our team in the Netherlands. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance with international trade regulations, export control laws, and corporate policies. 

This role will oversee tasks related to due diligence, manual screenings, license applications, and export authorization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive due diligence for all X-ray system orders, ensuring compliance with export control regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain and update tracking sheets to monitor compliance activities.
  • Chair compliance-related meetings and follow up on action items to ensure timely completion.
  • Perform manual screenings using GTS systems to evaluate affiliations and end-user relationships.
  • Investigate connections to WMD (Nuclear, Chemical, etc.) and military-related entities, conducting thorough research to ensure compliance.
  • Prepare, review, and submit license applications in accordance with national and international regulations:
  • For Dutch licenses, fill out the required forms and include all relevant research documentation.
  • Utilize platforms such as UK Spire for UK licenses and ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Facilitate Export Authorization BAFA applications for exports to Germany.
  • Submit and manage requests through tools like Dow Jones and Kharon for enhanced due diligence.
  • Cross-reference data across SF quotes, End User Statements (EUS), and internet sources to validate compliance.
  • Review and approve SF quotes for X-ray systems, ensuring compliance with trade and export regulations.
  • Ensure adherence to laws governing dual-use items, military products, and trade sanctions.
  • Maintain knowledge of evolving trade compliance regulations, including the European Union and international standards.

Requirements:
  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Law, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 3-5 years in trade compliance, export controls, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with WMD and military relationship screenings.
  • Understanding of global trade compliance tools (e.g., GTS, Dow Jones, Kharon).
  • Knowledge of licensing platforms (e.g., UK Spire, BAFA processes).
