We have an outstanding opportunity for a Senior Tax Manager with expertise in mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and IPOs to join our client’s team.
Role Overview:
This position will lead and oversee a team dedicated to supporting clients through major corporate transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and IPOs, with a focus on tax and operational impacts related to employee rewards.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in at least 3 of the following:
- Global compensation and equity taxation & sourcing
- Employment tax compliance & consulting (domestic and global)
- Mobility tax compliance & consulting
- M&A advisory
- Total rewards and benefits
- Executive compensation & integration
- ASC 718, ASC 740
- Share-based compensation, data & analytics
- Corporate taxation
Responsibilities:
- Identify and assess tax and operational risks that could lead to tax exposure.
- Draft technical memoranda, design post-transaction operational processes, and ensure compliance.
- Manage post-transaction integration of compensation, benefits, and share-based compensation globally.
- Provide executive and employee communications regarding tax impacts of corporate transactions.
- Develop and maintain senior client relationships, delivering technical, compliance, and operational expertise while ensuring high-quality client service.
- Lead engagement teams, overseeing day-to-day service delivery and operational execution.
- Manage risk, financial performance, team assignments, billing, and budget control on engagements.
- Participate in business development activities, client presentations, and internal/external firm events.
- Mentor and develop tax professionals within the team.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 7 years of recent experience in employer benefit strategies, with preferred experience in at least three of the following areas: Total rewards and benefits; Mobility tax compliance & consulting; Global compensation and equity taxation & sourcing; M&A advisory; Employment tax compliance & consulting (domestic and global); Executive compensation & integration; Corporate taxation; ASC 718, ASC 740; Share-based compensation, data & analytics
- Strong project management skills, with experience leading large multinational engagements.
- Excellent quantitative, analytical, and advisory skills.
- Ability to prioritise multiple projects, anticipate client needs, and develop new client service opportunities.
- Innovative mindset with the ability to reimagine and deliver creative solutions in people, process, and technology.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities, capable of conveying complex information clearly and concisely.
- CPA, EA, JD/LLM, or an advanced professional designation (e.g., MBA, ASOA, ENR ACT, FSA, CBP, CCP, CEBS, CPP, GPHR, PHR, SPHR) or willingness to obtain within one year of hire.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field (Law degree is a plus).
