We are partnering with a leading Freight Forwarder who are seeking a Senior Project Manager to join their team in Rotterdam. 

As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the daily inquiries and shipments within the Energy Ports & Projects business unit, ensuring both commercial and operational performance is maintained. 

You will execute, monitor, analyze, and report on shipment and project progress, working closely with various internal teams, agents, and support functions such as Chartering Desks, Technical & Engineering Departments, and HSSEQ to ensure seamless operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily inquiries and shipments while overseeing the department's commercial and operational performance within the Energy Ports & Projects unit.
  • Monitor, track, and report the progress of shipments and projects to clients, collaborating with internal teams and support functions.
  • Support KPI and SOP processes and ensure timely, clear communication with all stakeholders.
  • Take ownership of issues, managing them through escalation procedures when necessary.
  • Build and nurture strong client relationships by providing excellent service and support.
  • Identify potential risks related to transporting over-dimensional cargo and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Oversee the service quality and performance of subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Assist with operational sales and business development activities, providing support to the Rotterdam office when needed.


Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., business administration, project management) or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proven experience as a Senior Project Manager or Team Lead in Freight Forwarding.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and best practices.
  • Familiarity with specialized equipment, including multi-axle trailers and self-propelled modular transporters, along with customs procedures for oversized cargo.
  • A solid understanding of transportation regulations, especially for oversize and heavy haul shipments.
