Our client, a moving company located close to Edison, NJ, is looking to add an experienced General Manager to their team.

Responsibilities of the General Manager role include, but are not limited to: 

  • Managing every facet of the moving services provider's operations and sales.
  • Oversee, train, support, and keep an eye on employees' performance to guarantee consistently high-calibre work.
  • Lead the charge in advancing production and sales.
  • Reaching or surpassing all profit, budget, and sales goals.
  • Create and put into place operating processes that will improve the moving and storage operations' efficiency.
  • Ensuring that the business adheres to operating standards and upholds a culture of health and safety at work.
  • To achieve a more streamlined and effective operation, identifying, addressing, and resolving any concerns connected to business performance.
  • Provide staff with growth opportunities, periodically assessing their present skill levels and establishing new training initiatives.
  • Keeping abreast of developments and business trends in the moving, storage, and relocation sector.
  • Showcasing your understanding of the local market, the relocation business, and the actions of competitors and customers.
  • Ensuring all employees are aware of the company's objectives and provide consistently excellent service that complies with quality standards.


Skills and Experience Required:

  • Must have previous experience as a General Manager in the moving industry.
  • Excellent communicator who feels at ease interacting with staff and management at all levels. 
  • Strong operational and sales experience with corporate relocations, specialist movers, storage, and door-to-door home goods moving. 
  • Extremely organized with natural leadership and management skills. 
  • Strong sales and commercial business acumen will be advantageous.
  • A high school education is required, while an associate's or bachelor's degree is recommended. 
  • Strong IT abilities and prior Microsoft Office product knowledge are also required.
