Our client, an established New York based gallery are looking to bring on an enthusiastic Sales Associate to their dynamic team.
The main responsibilities include:
- Assist the Director and sales staff with sales queries, offers, and client outreach.
- Organize and assist with viewings and previews.
- Research artists and market prices.
- Identify major collectors, galleries, and museums for marketing.
- Prepare agendas and coordinate Sales staff meetings.
- Maintain accurate records in ArtLogic, including object details, owners, prices, and notes.
- Update and manage Reserves in ArtLogic and inform Sales staff of changes.
- Track consignments and update the team at weekly meetings.
- Monitor auctions for client and artwork information.
- Communicate with artists, museum directors, and curators as needed.
- Assist with logistics for exhibitions and art fairs.
- Coordinate the Director’s itinerary for art fairs and trips.
The key skills required include:
- Previous experience within a similar role, with a proven track record in art sales is essential.
- Excellent business development skills with the ability to successfully build up a portfolio of clients.
- Highly motivated and confident liaising with high-net industry professionals.
- A passion for and knowledge of Japanese art and design is preferred but not essential.
- A pre-existing client-base is beneficial.
- Japanese language is beneficial.
